Herrera, Richard S.

Initiated into Zeta-Kappa Chapter at California State University - Bakersfield in 1985, Rich Herrera began a career in broadcasting. He worked on the post-game radio shows first for the San Francisco Giants and then the Oakland A’s baseball postgame from 1996–2000. He later was hired to host the pre- and post-game shows for the Tampa Bay Rays radio broadcasts, a position he held from 2005 to 2011. 


His radio experience has also included stints with SportsFan Radio, Prime Sports Radio, and Fox Sports Radio, where he co-hosted national radio shows with Bob Golic.


Herrera is the only radio announcer in Major League Baseball of Mexican-American heritage without a background as a player. He was the first nationally syndicated Hispanic sports radio personality in the United States.
